When you introduce new topics in class either for writing or discussion it is useful to see both sides of the story. ProCon takes controversial current topics, posts a “core question” about the topic, provides an overview of the topic, and provides background information on the controversial topic. Then ProCon presents short articles and news quotes from both sides of the “core question.” (source Free technology for teachers)
Lesson plan:
- Choose one of the topics listed below
- In groups of 4, pair up and take oposite sides
- Look here for ways to organize the groups using cooperative learning.
- Have your students either write a paper about the topic or type the discussion for you to listen to by using this program. Speaker online.
This looks very useful, thanks for sharing 🙂
