Objective
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
– Define artificial intelligence and give examples of its applications in everyday life.
– Compare and contrast human intelligence and artificial intelligence.
– Discuss the benefits and challenges of artificial intelligence for society.

Procedure
Warm-up: Ask students to brainstorm what they know or think about artificial intelligence (AI). Write their ideas on the board. Clarify any misconceptions or confusion. Explain that AI is the ability of machines or computer systems to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence, such as recognizing faces, understanding language, playing games, etc.
Reading: Ask them to read the article and answer the comprehension questions on the worksheet. Monitor and assist as needed. Provide a worksheet with comprehension questions for them to answer. Monitor their progress and offer assistance when necessary. Worksheet.
Discussion: Divide the students into small groups. Ask them to discuss the following questions based on the article:
- What are some examples of AI that you use or encounter in your daily life?
- How does AI make your life easier or more convenient?
- How does AI affect your privacy or security?
- What are some ethical or moral issues related to AI
- Do you think AI can ever surpass human intelligence? Why or why not?
- How do you feel about AI being able to understand and generate natural language, such as chatbots, voice assistants, and text summaries?
- What are some of the benefits and risks of AI for different sectors, such as health care, education, entertainment, and transportation?
- How do you think AI will affect the future of work and employment? Will AI create more jobs or replace them?
- How do you think AI will affect the future of human relationships and interactions? Will AI enhance them or diminish them?
- How do you think AI will affect the future of democracy and human rights? Will AI empower them or threaten them?
- How do you think AI will affect the future of creativity and innovation? Will AI inspire them or stifle them?
- How do you think we should regulate and govern AI? What are some of the principles and values that we should uphold when developing and using AI?
Feedback: Ask each group to share their main points with the class. Encourage other groups to comment or ask questions. Summarize the main ideas and opinions expressed by the students.
Writing.
Ask the students to research one example of AI that interests them and write a short paragraph about it. They should include:
– What is the name and purpose of the AI system or application?
– How does it work and what are its features?
– What are some advantages and disadvantages of using it?
What do think about ordering food from these guys? Something for the school canteen?
