Topic: Joe Biden’s Reelection Campaign

Objectives:

Procedure:

  1. Begin by reviewing the key issues that are likely to be debated in the 2024 presidential election. These issues could include the economy, healthcare, education, climate change, and foreign policy.
  2. Next, distribute handouts of articles and/or videos about Joe Biden’s reelection campaign. Have students read or watch the materials and then come up with a list of Biden’s strengths and weaknesses as a candidate.
  3. Once students have had a chance to review the materials, lead a class discussion about Biden’s candidacy. Encourage students to share their opinions on whether or not they think Biden should be reelected.
  4. How do candidates for the presidency fund their campaigns? Look at the Tweet Joe Biden sent right after his announcement.
  5. To conclude the lesson, if in the US, distribute handouts of a voter registration form. Encourage students to register to vote and to make their voices heard in the 2024 presidential election.
